{"id":790,"date":"2023-02-13T10:58:48","date_gmt":"2023-02-13T15:58:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.icainstitute.org\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=790"},"modified":"2023-02-13T12:01:12","modified_gmt":"2023-02-13T17:01:12","slug":"dr-anupam-srivastava","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.icainstitute.org\/profile\/dr-anupam-srivastava\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Anupam Srivastava"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Anupam Srivastava is the Director of the Asia Program at the Center for International Trade and Security (CITS), University of Georgia (UGA), and Adjunct Faculty of UGA\u2019s School of Public and International Affairs, where he teaches courses on International Security, Political Economy, and Asian affairs. Dr. Srivastava directs multi-year projects at CITS that provide training and research on non-proliferation and technology security to licensing and enforcement officials of the governments of China and India and their dual-use-producing corporate sectors. He serves on the Experts Group on Export Controls within the Weapons of Mass Destruction Study Group of the\u00a0<em>Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific<\/em>, an 18-country non-governmental organization working to improve economic and technological security across the Asia Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>These initiatives are supported by the U.S. Departments of Energy and State, Ford Foundation, Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership, John D. &amp; Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Carnegie Corporation of New York, &amp; the U.S. Institute of Peace, among others. Dr. Srivastava and his colleagues have generated over $15 million of external funding to support the work of CITS, which is increasingly contracted to work with the IAEA, UN Security Council, and in China, India, South East Asia, Russia and Europe by both governmental and non-governmental bodies.<\/p>\n<p>Trained in economics and international security, Dr. Srivastava has provided numerous briefings on Asian economic &amp; security relations to various agencies of the U.S., British, German, French, Chinese and Indian Governments, and made presentations on related topics at various international academic and policy forums. Dr. Srivastava appears regularly on\u00a0<em>British Broadcasting Service, CNBC Asia, CNN &amp; Voice of America<\/em>, and is regularly quoted in several frontline US &amp; international newspapers, and radio &amp; TV programs.
