Dr. Surjit Mansingh

Visiting Scholar — Sigur Center for Asian Studies, George Washington University

Dr. Surjit Mansingh is a Visiting Scholar at the Sigur Center for Asian Studies at The George Washington University, Washington, D.C. She retired from her position of Professor of International Politics at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, where she specialized in the comparative analyses of foreign policies including China and India.

She previously taught at universities in the United States, Italy, and India, and began her career in the Indian Foreign Service. She is the author of Historical Dictionary of India (1996) and India's Search for Power: Indira Gandhi's Foreign Policy (1984), and co-author of Diplomatic History of Modern India (1971).
