
Suresh Sharma
Mr. Suresh Sharma is an internationally-acknowledged business
leader known for his pragmatic vision and operational excellence.
Co-author of a recently published book - “Global
Outsourcing: Executing an Onshore, Nearshore and Offshore
Strategy” - he is an expert on combining strategy,
process maturity and globalization to drive sustainable business
growth profitably.
In 2005, he co-founded JS3 Global, LLC along
with Dr. Jagdish (Jag) Sheth, and currently is the CEO of
the company. The company is a ‘unique operating business platform’ - focused on buying-investing-running
and managing other businesses that may be experiencing growth challenges. It
leverages its capital coupled with an outstanding reserve pool of c-level management
to ‘invest-acquire-own and operate’ the struggling business for increased
profitability. Further, the company also has its own uniquely powerful consulting
arm - with global scale - a vast network of niche and uniquely world-renowned
associates - who lend their domain-expertise in helping businesses grow and globalize.
Suresh serves as Independent Director on boards of several companies and organizations,
including publicly-traded ones. A well-known keynote speaker and panelist, he
has participated in over 100 major international events speaking on Business,
Globalization, Cross-border Mergers and Acquisitions, Outsourcing, Technology,
and related policy issues in various industries.
Formerly, Suresh was a senior executive at General Electric (GE), and is a GE-certified
Six-Sigma Master Black Belt. He is widely known for his contributions in setting
up global outsourcing centers in R&D, IT, Business Process, Engineering Services,
Manufacturing, Healthcare and other sectors in India, China, Canada, Mexico,
Central Europe and the rest of Asia. His most recent position at GE in 2004 was Global
Technology Leader for a $1.2 billion business-segment of GE Energy, Atlanta.
He played key role in the creation and integration of this segment
from scratch through 22 new acquisitions. The acquisitions varied in size, technology,
product lines and geography: from half a million to several hundred millions
of dollars in revenue, software, embedded systems, hardware and services companies
spread over America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
In his earlier professional life in U.S.A. /EU - Suresh authored over 20 technical
journal and conference papers, several workshop proceedings and numerous research
reports. Prior industry experience includes assignments with GE Corporate R&D
Center in Schenectady (U.S.A.), NASA Langley in Hampton VA (U.S.A.), British
Aerospace and Rolls Royce in the U.K., and MATRA in France. He began his early
career as an Officer in Naval Aviation in India.
He is an active community volunteer and leader in Atlanta - serving numerous
organizations at various levels of responsible positions over years: TAG
(Technology Association of Georgia), External Industry Advisory Board of Georgia
Tech (MSE), Venture Lab Fellow Georgia Tech, GIACC (Georgia Indo-American Chamber
of Commerce), TiE (The Indo-US Entrepreneurs) and ICA Institute (India China
and America Institute).
Suresh has a Masters in Aerospace from University of Florida,
Gainesville FL (U.S.A.) – 1994, Management of Technology
Courses with British Aerospace, PLC (U.K) - 1983, and BE
(Honors) in Mechanical from BITS,
Pilani (India) - 1975.
